Certified to Ride and Protect

Owen J. Roberts Security Department routinely arranges certification for security officers in Bike Patrol. This certification allows officers to respond to situations safely and effectively. Officers learn many skills such as what to carry on the bike, how to fall without injury, and how to navigate large crowds.

Chief David White, Oley Township Police Department provided a training in April, 2014.

Using the bikes to patrol campus provides health and environmental benefits. Bicycles cost much less to operate than motor vehicles as well. The bikes have many safety benefits and also allow interaction between officers and the public.
