Owen J. Roberts High School Presents Little Shop of Horrors
POTTSTOWN, PA – Owen J. Roberts High School presents Little Shop of Horrors, a comedy monster-hit rock musical, about a hapless florist who raises a plant that thrives on a special type of food: human blood.
The 1960s style music features rock and roll, doo-wop and Motown, including “Skid Row (Downtown)”, “Somewhere That’s Green” and “Suddenly, Seymour”, and is sure to keep the audiences’ toes tappin’! The talented cast includes 30 Owen J. Roberts High School students, under the leadership of Director Justin Damm, Musical Director Jessica Potts, and Choreographer Lauren Paravis.
Alan Menken (music) and Howard Ashman (book) employ a riveting score to tell the story of Seymour Krelborn, an employee of a rundown flower shop on Skid Row. To bolster Mr. Mushnik’s floundering business, Seymour purchases a bizarre plant from a nearby street vendor. He names the plant after his crush, Audrey, and while it helps him find fame and fortune, he discovers Audrey II’s aid comes with a price. One of the show’s funniest scenes takes Seymour to the dentist in an attempt to satisfy Audrey II’s insatiable appetite. Just how big will Audrey II grow, and will she ever be stopped?
