PMEA All-State News

As a result of successful re-auditions at the PMEA Region 6 Choir Festival, two OJR choral students have been named to the PMEA All-State Choir:

Leah Muthler, Grade 11, Soprano 1
Michelle Intoccia, Grade 11, Soprano 2

In order to place into All-State Choir, students must be within the top 6 of 20 vocalists in each voice part.  And at the Region Festival, District 12’s best 10 singers (in each part) go up against District 11’s best 10 singers (in each part).  It is the best versus the best vying for only 6 spots (in each part).
Leah and Michelle will be attending the PMEA All-State Choir Festival from March 25-28, 2015 in Harrisburg/Hershey, PA.

In related PMEA All-State news, in case you did not see a previous post, congratulations also to Freshman, Daniel DiMarino, whose composition entitled “Nefarioso” for String Quartet was selected the winning composition for composers in the grade 9-12 division.  There were over 20 applications received in each category (elementary, middle school, high school, collegiate, and adult).  Daniel’s work will be premiered live at the PMEA All-State Conference on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 12:15 pm in the Trinidad Ball Room at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

Congratulations to these fine student musicians on a job well done!
