Senior Wins Columbus Essay Contest

High School Senior Christina Fluharty has earned the prestigious Christopher Columbus essay contest sponsored by the Chester County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolutions. The award was recognized by senators of the Senate of Pennsylvania.
The Community Courier reported, "For the Christopher Columbus essay contest, students were asked to discuss the similarities and differences between Christopher Columbus' voyage to the New World and Charles Lindbergh's first solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. In her essay, Christina wrote, 'These two gentlemen did not know each other, but the manner in which they carried themselves and their fame contributes to their everlasting legacy through their ruthless determination and hearts full of burning passion.'"
