Stellar Shakespearean Performances

God Ye Good Den, Gentles!

Owen J. Roberts High School students performed brilliantly today at the 2016 Chester County Shakespeare Festival hosted by the CCIU and held at Immaculata University.  Our group performed five scenes titled “Shakespeare’s Parents and Their Children.”

As always, we have great reason to be proud of our student actors.  Three individual students were recognized for their talent:  Christian Eagen, a senior, was awarded the “Name in Lights Award” for his best actor performance as Hamlet; Kelly Werth, a senior, was awarded the “Practice Makes Perfect Award” for her best actress performance as Gertrude in Hamlet; Jillian Gammon, a sophomore, was awarded the “Best Supporting Actress Award” for her role as the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet.  The cast also earned two group awards, the “Class Act Award” and the “Well-Oiled Machine Award” for their stellar performance.

Ms. Galambos reported, "Not only do our actors take the stage exceptionally well, but they are also the best audience members, cheering loudest for other student groups and encouraging their time beneath the spotlight.  I take great pride in our thespians, and it’s always an honor to work with them."
