First STEM Seminar Draws Crowd

In supporting the national movement to expose students to STEM careers, as well as the school district’s STEAM initiatives, Owen J. Roberts hosted the first-ever after school “Careers in Science STEAM Seminar” for students on May 3. Over 480 students attended to learn from three different professionals. Gregory George, PhD, Delaware Valley University, presented on ornithology, specifically about his work with population demographics of the Cerulean Warbler in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Barbara Forslund, Senior Consultant, Advanced GeoServices Corp., gave an overview of engineering and provided her educational and business background. Special Agent Gregory Blanch spoke to the students about careers in forensics.
