Kids for Kids
Owen J. Roberts High School hosted a mini-THON all-night event on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Approximately 450 students attended and the group raised more than $40,000! With more than 90,000 student volunteers and 265 schools in eight states (and counting!), Mini-THONs are bringing hope to families in need and giving back to their community.
Four Diamonds Mini-THONs are interactive events for students of all ages that inspire teamwork, leadership and creativity, while empowering youth and young adults through philanthropy and community service in the fight to conquer childhood cancer. Mini-THONs are modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) and have been making a difference in the lives of childhood cancer patients and their families since 1993.
From 8 p.m. until 8 a.m., students do not sit. The event is interactive and fun. Many volunteers help throughout the night. Special thanks go to Miss Jesse Reick, Mrs. Brooke Kelly, and Miss Emma Walker for their leadership as the advisors of the Kids for Kids Club who sponsored the Mini-Thon.
