College Application Boot Camp was held this week at Owen J. Roberts High School with nearly 50 students attending. Boot Camp is is an excellent enrichment program for rising seniors to get a jump start and extra confidence on the college application process. The course helps students navigate the complex college admissions process from creating a school list by using a software tool, Naviance, to producing college application essays. The Naviance technology is a comprehensive tool that helps students align their strengths and interests with post secondary goals. Students are able to understand college possibilities, explore college admission statistics, match best-fit colleges and even identify possible college majors.
Guidance Counselors, Mr. Greg Gilbert and Ms. Jen Arnst, are the instructors for the course. Assisting students in writing stand-out admissions essays are Mrs. Dawn Galambos, Mrs. Beth Seiler and Mrs. Amber Benson-Chubb from the High School English Department.
