Today, Owen J. Roberts secondary teachers took part in an evidence-informed, two-hour workshop designed to teach adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
The program is different than mandated reporter training. It offers much more detailed insight into how to end child sexual abuse and how adults, educators in particular, can effect real change to accomplish that.
The program is part of the Safe and Healthy Communities Initiative grant in Chester County. It is the first comprehensive initiative in our county created to end child sexual abuse. Over the next three years facilitators from the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County will present workshops to children and adults in the community.
