#DotDay2018 @WVElementary

What kind of mark will you make?

That is the question students are pondering at West Vincent Elementary School.

During Art class, all West Vincent students have been creating artwork based on The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. This book encourages self-expression, creativity, and bravery, as well as a Growth Mindset and the awesome Power of “Yet”.

International Dot Day takes place annually on September 15th-ish. While the participant number continues to grow we know there are over 13 million individuals celebrating in 177 different countries around the world! The website live-updates, so check for the most up-to-date numbers of participants.

When parents came to Back To School Night at West Vincent Elementary School, they were able to add to the mark celebration among the student work displayed in the halls.

West Vincent Elementary culminated their celebration with a “Dot Day” today, Friday, September 14, when all students and staff were invited to wear dots, spots, or polka dots to fill the school with dots for the day. Students got very creative sporting dots that were planets, soccer balls and more. Some used face paint to give their cheeks a few dots.
Clearly, everyone was proud of their mark!
