Owen J. Roberts High School students understand that a safe and stable blood supply is predicated by a strong and willing community. Today, Miller-Keystone Blood Center was at the high school for a semi-annual blood drive. More than 100 students and many staff signed up to give blood. In addition to donors, more than 30 student Key Club volunteers helped man the drive assisting and supporting peers.
According to MKBC, “Blood transfusions save more than 4 million Americans each year. From cancer patients to accident victims, premature babies and more, the generosity of blood donors contributes to saving lives right here in our community. Miller-Keystone Blood Center is the only blood supplier to 22 hospitals in our region.”
