Eleven OM Teams Move to States

Mr. Chris Palochak provided the following report:

This past Saturday, March 9th, the Owen J. Roberts school district sent 14 teams to complete in the Odyssey of the Mind, East Central regional creative problem solving tournament, at Millersville University.  Of our 14 competing teams, eleven will move on to perform in the Pennsylvania State Championships, April 6th, in Swiftwater, PA.  Each of these 11 teams attained the right to compete at the next level of competition by earning either first or second place honors at the regional contest.

Our high school had four teams of students competing in the regional tournament, three of which earned first place honors along with one team placing fourth.

Owen J. middle school sent five teams to the competition taking home three first place and two third place trophies.

Each of our district elementary centers had a team compete at Millersville. All five of the elementary teams will move on to compete in state finals competition.  West Vincent finished in first place while French Creek, North Coventry, East Coventry, and East Vincent took home second place honors.

We wish our students all the best as they work to prepare for the next level of competition over the next few weeks and look forward to hearing good news from Swiftwater, PA in April.
